Renewals
Books, magazines and cassettes may be renewed once, provided another patron has not placed a reserve on that item.  Renewals may be made in person or by phone.
 
Compact Discs
The library has a growing collection of CD's - classical, popular and country.
 
Cassettes
Available are Books on Tape as well as music: rock, country, original oldies, etc.
 
Copier
The librarians will make copies for you on 8 1/2 x 11",  8 1/2 x 14",  or 11 x 17" paper.  Charges are 15 cents per copy.
 
Microfilm Reader
The library has a Dukane microfilm reader as well as two reader / printers.  History of Carey, Wyandot County, Ohio, and Carey's newspapers dating from 1873 through the present are available on microfilm.
 
Computers
The library has five computers in the adult department and five computers in the children's department for public use.  Call the library for information on scheduling. 
 
Laminator
You may have certificates, drivers licenses, etc. laminated at the library.
 
Meeting Room
There is a meeting room available for use by non-profit groups.  Call the library for reservations or more information.
 
Book Return
There is a book return located next to the west entrance door.  All items may be returned there at any time.
 
Interlibrary Loan
If we don't have the title you need or you need more information, ask for our interlibrary loan service.  We can obtain books from libraries across the state of Ohio.

The library carries a variety of newspapers:

Magazines
Among the 100 plus magazines the library subscribes to are news magazines such as Time, Newsweek, U.S. News, as well as those of special interest such as Bride's, Crafts, Entertainment Weekly, Family Fun, Field and Stream and Kid trips!.  There are magazines on travel and home decorating.  Past issues of any magazine may be checked out at the circulation desk.
 
Catalogs
The library has a large selection of catalogs including a variety of specialty catalogs, which may be checked out.
 
Paintings
Also offered for your enrichment are original and reproductions of oil paintings.  You must be at least 18 years old to borrow these paintings which stay in your home or office for 8 weeks.
 
Audio-Visual Services
Patrons must be at least 18 years old to check out video cassettes, DVD's, and projectors and 10 years old  to check out cassettes, albums, and CD's.  We also have a select group of videos in our children's department that may be checked out to all ages.
 
Projector
Available for a rental fee of $2.00 per 24 hour period is a slide projector.  A movie screen may also be borrowed.
 
Voter Registration
Have you registered to vote or need to notify the election board of an address change?  Forms are available at the circulation desk.
 
Home Bound
Persons who are ill or unable to come to the library, may call and books will be delivered to them.  Also for the visually impaired or blind, "Talking Books" can be ordered.  These are books on cassette which come with a special cassette player.
 
FAX service
The library now offers its patrons a Fax service of $1.00 per page - to send or receive.
 
Laubach Literacy Program
The library has a literacy program to teach adults over 18 years of age to read.  This is a "one-on-one" class with a volunteer tutor teaching each student.
